What are some good books or software programs for learning Malay?
Q. I may be going to the Malaysian part of Borneo on vacation next year, and I'd like to understand the local language a little more than I would get from just reading a phrasebook. I'd like to start with a book, tape, or program rather than a tutor, because of time constraints. I'd like some recommendations for learning materials. I'm a native English speaker, if that makes a difference. (Also, please let me know if I should be learning a language other than Malay!)

What should I wear in Italy (teenager)?
Q. Hey! Anyone who has been to Italy, or even better, who lives in Italy, I'd really like some tips on what I could take to Italy with me? I know I'll need a dictionary and phrasebook because I don't speak fluent Italian. I'd like a few tips on clothing and a few other things like Healthy and Safety advice because I'm 16 and travelling alone to stay with one of my friends. Any tips so I don't look as British, or so my appearance doesn't scream "tourist!!!"? Thanks!

A. I suppose you should just go more, natural. Try and stay away from heavy, dark makeup (cover-up, foundation, and mascara is more than acceptable) and wear comfortable, yet stylish clothing (comfortable itself is not a style). Bring comfortable walking shoes and a bag (or backpack) to carry that dictionary and any other "tourist" supplies you may need. I think it would be best to buy your feminine supplies in Italy, because they would take up extra room in your luggage that will be needed for any souvenirs your bring back. And I suppose if you don't want to stand out too much, using a self-tanner for the time you are there may help you blend in. As for staying safe, try not to wear certain valuables, but if you do, keep them close to your… [cont.]
